ASSIGNMENT 3 | USING ONE LIGHT

Sara grew up between Upstate New York and the Upper East Side.
I think she embodies traits from both of these environments,
but definitely gives off more of the Upstate vibes.
Upstate Sara, she is serving ethereal realness.
The light is positioned directly above and slightly behind her head held with a boom.  She is very close to the background, centered between to V-flats, both on white, bouncing light all around her.  Carla is holding a piece of white foam core below her waist, angled up, to bounce light back onto her face.
Upper East Side Sara is a Prada loafer wearing member of the Power Lesbian Mafia.
The light is positioned around the height of her shoulder and to the front on the right side.
A white v-flat next to the light is bouncing the light back to her, while the black v-flat on her left is stopping the light and darkening the shadow of the unlit side of her face.  Using the direct light also creates sharper edges. She is far away from the background in order to get it as dark as possible, while still providing a little bit of depth to get sharper lines and divide the blacks.
